Using Granola for phone calls
Not all meetings happen online - here’s a couple of ways you can use Granola to transcribe phone calls
Granola for iPhone is currently optimised for in-person meetings. Transcribing phone calls is one of our most requested features - we don’t currently support this, but if you have access to a Mac, you can use some features to take phone calls on your Mac.

For phone calls
macOS and iPhone have a Continuity feature, which allows you to make or receive phone calls via the Facetime app on your Mac.
To set this feature up, follow the guidelines on the Apple website.
Once you’ve done that, Granola should detect when you start a call via your Mac and prompt you to start transcribing. Or you can start transcribing manually when you know you’re going to make a call.
For WhatsApp calls
For WhatsApp calls
WhatsApp allows you to log in on other devices and make calls using their macOS app.
To set this up, download WhatsApp from the Mac App Store and start a voice or video call on WhatsApp from your Mac.
Once you’ve done that, Granola should detect the call starting and prompt you to start transcribing. Or you can start transcribing manually when you know you’re going to make a call.
If you’ve got any other calls that you’d like to divert from your iPhone to your Mac, get in touch and we’ll see if we can find a workaround for you.
