The Business plan includes unlimited meetings, collaboration features, and the ability to create and share lists of meetings. It’s designed for teams that want to collaborate and share insights from their meetings.

What collaboration features are included?

The Business plan includes features like Lists, which allow you to organize meeting notes by categories (e.g., projects, clients, or topics). You can share these lists with team members. We’re also adding query capabilities to help you find specific information across multiple meetings.

Can I opt out of model training on the Business plan?

Yes, users on the Business plan can opt out of model training individually. Each user would need to adjust this setting in their own account.

Enterprise Plan

What’s included in the Enterprise plan?

The Enterprise plan includes everything in the Business plan plus admin controls, enhanced security features, usage analytics, and priority support. It’s designed for organizations with stricter compliance needs or those who want centralized control over settings.

What admin controls are available?

Enterprise admins can enforce settings across the entire organization, including:

  • Opting out of model training for all users
  • Managing link sharing permissions (you can completely turn it off or enforce your team to login with their work email to view notes)
  • [Soon] Controlling consent messaging for recordings

We’re actively developing additional admin controls for data retention and access management. For specific requirements, please contact our sales team.

We’re actively working on additional security features including data retention policies and access logs. For specific security requirements, please contact our sales team.

Do you support SSO or SAML?

Currently, we use Google Workspace for authentication. If you have specific authentication requirements, please contact our sales team.

Do I need to inform participants that I’m using Granola?

We recommend informing all participants when you’re using Granola to record and transcribe meetings. Granola provides a feature that automatically sends a message in the meeting chat to notify participants. This is especially important in jurisdictions with two-party consent laws for recordings.

Granola offers an automated messaging feature that sends a customizable notification in meeting chats (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.) to inform participants that the meeting is being transcribed. On the Business plan, users can enable this individually. On the Enterprise plan, [SOON] admins can enforce this setting across the organization and standardize the message text.

Granola has users all over the world, including many states in the US. Granola provides tools to help you comply with consent laws, but ultimately compliance is your responsibility. In jurisdictions requiring all parties to consent to recording, such as two-party states in the US, we strongly recommend using our notification feature and confirming verbal consent at the beginning of meetings. Enterprise customers can soon enforce a company-wide notification feature to ensure compliance.

Yes, for Enterprise customers with a minimum annual spend of $15,000, we can work with your legal team to redline contracts and accommodate reasonable customizations to our standard terms. Our team has experience working with legal departments at regulated companies.

Can we sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) for HIPAA compliance?

We aren’t currently actively working toward HIPAA compliance. Healthcare organizations currently using Granola typically implement strict internal policies about what information can be discussed in Granola-recorded meetings.

Do you have standard security questionnaires completed?

Yes, we have responses prepared for standard security questionnaires. We can provide these upon request, along with our security documentation. Our team regularly responds to security reviews from enterprise customers, get in touch with our sales team here.

Privacy & Security

What data does Granola store?

Granola stores meeting transcripts and any notes you add. We do not record or store audio or video from your meetings. All data is stored securely on AWS servers in the US region.

How is my data encrypted?

Your data is encrypted both in transit and at rest. We use industry-standard encryption methods at the database and column level on AWS. For specific technical details about our encryption implementation, please contact our security team.

Can I control data retention?

We’re actively developing data retention controls for Enterprise customers. These will include options for auto-deletion after specified periods and the ability for admins to access and manage all transcripts across the organization.

Do you offer self-hosting or local storage options?

Currently, all data is hosted on our AWS infrastructure. We’ve heard your requests for options around self-hosting and local storage options, particularly to accommodate healthcare organizations and highly-regulated industries. We don’t currently have a specific timeline for these features.

How do you handle access controls?

On the Business plan, each user manages their own sharing settings. On the Enterprise plan, admins can enforce organization-wide policies about link sharing and access. We’re developing more granular controls similar to Google Docs permissions, allowing you to share with specific email addresses and domains.

AI & Models

Which AI models does Granola use?

Granola uses a combination of models for different aspects of the service. We continuously evaluate and switch between models to provide the best experience for different meeting types and use cases.

How does Granola handle model training?

By default, we may use anonymized data to improve our services. However, all users (on any plan) can opt out of model training in their settings. For Enterprise customers, admins can enforce this opt-out across the entire organization with a single setting. We have enterprise agreements with all of our service providers that prevent your data from being used in their model training.

How is data anonymized for model training?

  • No third parties train on your data. We have enterprise agreements with all of our service providers that prevent your data from being used in their model training.
  • For non-Enterprise users, Granola may use anonymized data to improve our services. However, all users (on any plan) can opt out of model training in their settings.
  • For Enterprise customers, Granola opts-out your entire organization from model training.

Can I use my own AI models with Granola?

Currently, Granola uses our carefully selected models for transcription and summarization. We don’t support bringing your own models at this time, though we’re evaluating this for future enterprise features.
